MSN Restaurant of the Month - June 2006
If you like delicious, traditional Lebanese food, head to Noura. Currently limited to London, you'll find restaurants in Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Piccadilly and a deli in Mayfair (the Mayfair establishment is currently closed for refurbishment and opens again in August).
The award-winning food speaks for itself. A great variety of hot and cold mezzes leave you spoilt for choice, so why not try a little of everything? All the usual Lebanese dishes - hummous kibbeh nayeh, tabbouleh, chawarma - are brought to you by extremely friendly and helpful waiters. The menu is backed by an extensive wine list which offers a selection of Lebanese wines.
The Piccadilly restaurant is sophisticatedly designed without being imposing, with three different dining areas for those who prefer a relaxed meal with friends or a romantic corner with comfy chairs for a dinner date. As Noura development director Nicolas Angelina is quick to tell guests, the difference between Noura and other Lebanese establishments is history. The first Noura opened in Paris in 1980. History is also integral to the restaurants' interior design, with the Piccadilly branch playing homage to the Phoenicians.
Proving once again that there is something for everyone, the DJs who play live music from Thursday to Saturday nights make Noura Piccadilly lively and fun, and there are even plans for a downstairs bar and club for après-dinner dancing.
Last year alone Noura was awarded both the title of Best Vegetarian Meal by Time Out magazine and the prestigious Golden Five Continents Award for Quality & Excellence.
